Mono-prints

Miranda showed me how to make mono-prints using an old clothes mangle.  Good fun, and messy!  We applied oil inks with a roller, as well as using rags, card, fingers, pencils, a toothbrush, a pin, and splashed on some turpentine from time to time.

The work environment, our palette on the right, and a dish of water to soak paper on the left.  We were applying the oil inks to small plates of metal.

You sandwich the plate on the paper between lots more paper and blankets.  We used paper to increase the pressure of the pressing.

Blankets down.

An impressive finger drawing by Miranda.

Messy hands :)
